Terms of Service

Effective Date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using BiteBrake, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.

2. Description of BiteBrake

BiteBrake is a behavioral self-control and wellness tool. It helps users create friction around late-night eating habits by closing a kitchen routine, blocking selected food-delivery apps, and guiding users through short craving interventions.

3. Eligibility and age requirements

You must be old enough to consent to use digital services in your location. If you are under the age of majority, you may use BiteBrake only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

4. App functionality

BiteBrake may allow you to choose blocked apps, set schedules, complete craving exercises, receive reminders, and review your own progress. Features may vary by platform, operating system version, region, and subscription status.

5. App-blocking limitations

The app may create friction around selected applications but cannot guarantee that users will not bypass, disable, revoke, uninstall, or otherwise circumvent its restrictions. BiteBrake is not responsible for user decisions made outside the app.

6. Health and wellness disclaimer

BiteBrake is a behavioral self-control and wellness tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnose conditions, guarantee weight loss, treat eating disorders, or replace professional healthcare. If you have concerns about eating behaviors, mental health, or a medical condition, consult a qualified professional.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Some features may require a paid subscription. Subscription prices, billing periods, trial terms, renewal rules, and cancellation options are shown before purchase and are managed through the applicable app store or subscription provider.

8. Free trials

If a free trial is offered, it will convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends, according to the terms shown at checkout.

9. Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription through the platform where you purchased it, such as Apple App Store subscriptions, Google Play subscriptions, or a configured subscription portal. Deleting the app may not cancel your subscription.

10. Refunds

Refund requests are handled by the platform or provider that processed your payment, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

11. User responsibilities

You are responsible for choosing appropriate settings, maintaining access to your device and accounts, and using BiteBrake in a lawful and respectful way.

12. Prohibited conduct

You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer protected parts of the app, or use BiteBrake for unlawful purposes.

13. Third-party services

BiteBrake may rely on third-party services for app stores, subscriptions, analytics, crash reporting, hosting, and customer support. Those services may have their own terms and policies.

14. Intellectual property

BiteBrake, including its name, design, software, text, and visual assets, is owned by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] or its licensors. These terms do not grant you ownership rights in BiteBrake.

15. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of BiteBrake at any time. We may also update these terms as the product, law, or business changes.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

BiteBrake is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
