Privacy Policy

Effective Date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how BiteBrake handles information when you use the BiteBrake app, website, and related support channels.

2. Information supplied by the user

You may provide information such as your name, email address, support messages, feedback, and subscription support details when you contact us or use support features.

3. Craving-intervention data

BiteBrake may process information about craving check-ins, intervention sessions, reflections, streaks, completion status, and related settings that help the app provide its core behavior-support features.

4. Selected-app and schedule data

BiteBrake may process the apps you personally select for blocking, your chosen blocking schedules, kitchen-close routines, notification preferences, and related configuration data.

5. Device and diagnostic information

We may receive device type, operating system version, app version, approximate locale, crash logs, and diagnostic events through [CRASH REPORTING PROVIDER] or platform tools to maintain reliability.

6. Analytics information

If configured, [ANALYTICS PROVIDER] may help us understand aggregate product usage, feature performance, and app reliability. We do not use analytics to sell personal information.

7. Subscription and purchase information

Subscriptions and purchases may be processed by Apple, Google, [SUBSCRIPTION PROVIDER], or another payment provider. We may receive purchase status, entitlement state, product identifiers, renewal status, and related support metadata, but not full payment card numbers.

8. Screen Time and Accessibility permissions

On iOS, BiteBrake may use Apple Screen Time frameworks such as Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity. Selected applications may be represented using privacy-preserving Apple tokens. On Android, BiteBrake may use Accessibility access and Usage Access to detect when the user opens an application they personally selected for blocking.

9. Permission boundaries

BiteBrake must not use Screen Time, Accessibility, or Usage Access permissions to read messages, passwords, form entries, payment information, or unrelated on-screen content.

10. On-device versus server storage

Some settings and intervention data may be stored on your device. If cloud backup, account sync, AI features, customer support tooling, or subscriptions are configured, related data may be processed by [BACKEND PROVIDER], [AI PROVIDER, IF ANY], or other listed providers.

11. How information is used

Information is used to operate BiteBrake, apply your selected blocking settings, guide craving interventions, provide support, manage subscriptions, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

12. Legal bases where relevant

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform a contract, pursue legitimate interests such as app security and reliability, comply with legal obligations, and honor consent where consent is required.

13. Third-party providers

BiteBrake may use [ANALYTICS PROVIDER], [SUBSCRIPTION PROVIDER], [CRASH REPORTING PROVIDER], [BACKEND PROVIDER], [AI PROVIDER, IF ANY], Apple, Google, hosting providers, and customer support tools. Replace these placeholders before launch with the actual providers in use.

14. Retention

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including app functionality, support, billing, legal compliance, security, and dispute resolution.

15. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No app, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

16. International processing

Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.

17. User rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your information. You may also have the right to complain to a privacy regulator.

18. Data deletion

To request deletion, contact [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Some information may remain where retention is required for legal, billing, security, or legitimate business reasons.

19. Children's privacy

BiteBrake is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without required consent.

20. Policy changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as BiteBrake changes. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice where required.
